Artist. Land Developer. To succeed at either of these disciplines,
one must have a true creative passion. The work of Jim West exudes creativity, and brings a fresh vision to life in numerous
diverse forms. As a developer, his unique planned communities sculpt the land to harmonize with his buildings and homes. As a
sculptor, his work transforms clay into objects of art. As with all things, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Let us
know if you like what you see.

The earth is a natural medium for my artistic expression.
I am both a sculptor of the land and a sculptor in clay. As builder and developer by profession, I've spent a lifetime
forging a delicate balance between the earth and my buildings. My construction projects have an ongoing theme of environmental
consciousness. I see the structures I build as a dynamic meeting point between man and nature, and the space I create is what
allows the two to fuse and intermingle harmoniously.

For more than 25 years, I've been making a distinctive mark in the construction industry. Over time, I've built everything
from single family homes to townhomes, apartment complexes, commercial buildings, office and retail developments. My best work
extends beyond the actual structures we build, and creates planned environments and communities designed to improve upon and
celebrate nature. The new organic flow is one that suits both the people and the purpose behind each new development.
My career as a sculptor is a natural evolution of my construction work, and a remarkably intense, concentrated outlet
for creative energy. While construction projects can take years in just the planning, sculpting allows my ideas to come to life
before my eyes. I thrive on the creative gratification, as ideas take shape in my head and my heart and transfer almost
intuitively through my hands to the yielding clay.

As a sculptor, I use the earth to mold exquisite replicas of the human body. I believe the human body and the earth
flow into a relationship. My art is an exploration of that relationship.
Adolescent rebellion and coming of age is another theme that inspires me, creating angry yet poignant
pieces. I want the viewer to do more than see the pain and frustration in my subject; I want them to feel it, too.
Over the years I have been many different things, but at the heart I have always been the same: an independent, creative
individual with a passionate drive to pursue my own vision. Join me, and see how your ideas and mine can come together.
